Time is running out to enter 42BELOW’s first Trans-Tasman sustainability focused cocktail competition. Yes, that’s right my kale munching, moustache tweaking, Bernie Sanders supporting mavericks. You could be sustainably shaking your vegan arse to beautiful Queenstown for a Cocktail Comp that reminds you just why we want to save this breath-taking home we call Earth.
To qualify – all you have to do is grab a mate and create a cocktail championing sustainable practices – using the pure spirit of 42BELOW vodka. So if you’re a bar team that embraces 42BELOW like it was the last fresh water source on the planet – this is the cocktail comp for you.
Entries (closing May 31st!)
Bartender duos can register their interest via the Queen of All Things Green,
firstname.lastname@example.org to receive an entry form which they will need to submit accompanied by a photo of their original 42BELOW “saving the planet” cocktail. We are looking for buzz words such as local, organic, recyclable, green (yes green – not blue) and renewable.
These entries will be judged out of 100 by our Brand Ambassador according to the following criteria:
- Cocktail name (10 points)
- Sustainable practices (20 points)
- Recipe (30 points)
- Appearance (10 points)
- Consumer appeal (20 points)
- Rationale/inspiration (10 points)
- Picture of Al Gore drinking it (100,000 points)
ENTRIES CLOSE 31ST MAY, 2016, MIDNIGHT AEST.
The 42 bars across Australia with the best entries will be paid a visit to champion their cocktail and undergo a short educational session on sustainable bar practices. Competitors will have the opportunity to tally up as many points as possible through various incentives including volume target, social media and of course, the cocktail itself.
Queenstown, NZ Final
In late August, 5 duos from 5 venues will be selected to fly to and compete in the 42BELOW Cocktail Earth Cup in Queenstown. All details to be revealed on arrival to level the playing field. The victorious team will be granted the prize of returning to judge next year’s competition, continuing to save the world, one drink at a time.
