Employees Only’s Common Sense by Steve Schneider

Very few bars have a cocktail menu they use in five locations across the globe, because, well there’s very few bars with the reputation of Employees Only operating in five locations around the world.

The genius in this drink is its simplicity, relying on the individual ingredients themselves to bring complexity to the final mix.

“This is one of Steve Schneider’s drinks from way back,” says Garner. “The idea was that, the drink just made sense. You’ve got whiskey with these chocolatey, really delicious flavours, but it’s still easy to drink; it’s a real digestif drink.”

  1. Stir down all ingredients over ice.
  2. Strain over block ice in a rocks glass.
  3. Garnish with a twist.
