Just months after the opening of Public in Brisbane’s CBD by Bonnie Shearston and Tom Sanceau the other half of the Canvas equation – Marco and Emily Nunes have unveiled plans for their new venture. Located in a new retail, office and hospitality development called McLachlan & Ann in Fortitude Valley, Papa Jacks – as the venue is pegged – is set to open in June 2013. The venue will hold approximately 100 people as will be a New Orleans inspired joint featuring creole style food, drinks and, of course, blues. The venue will be open for weekday lunches, evening cocktails and weekend breakfast. Marco Nunes says his new venue will closer to his dream bar being a, “proper bar with table service, but it will also be fun.”
