The Blend launches the BYRDI at Home Cocktail Collaboration Challenge!
On the table is a once in a lifetime opportunity to collaborate with the legendary Luke Whearty from BYRDI, Melbourne on a bottled cocktail for the BYRDI Shop online menu!
This could be your chance to make your mark on cocktail history!
Earlier this year, The Blend launched BYRDI at Home Luke Whearty, a series of educational modules, as part of the Blends of the VIRTUAL World. Luke has shared his learnings on various topics of modern bartending, including FERMENTATION, SEASONALITY and TEXTURE.
There are 5 exciting modules to dive into! Learn, create and connect!
It’s now time to put your new skills to the test!
Luke is offering the chance to collaborate with him on a cocktail for the BYRDI Shop online menu, to be sold Australia wide!
By using the learnings from the BYRDI at Home, you are challenged to create a spring/summer cocktail, made using either Jim Beam Black Label or HAKUTM Vodka , that draws from at least three (3) of Luke’s modules.
The winners will receive one-on-one feedback from Luke Whearty himself, a mixed case of Beam Suntory stock, and the most exciting part: they will have their cocktail featured on the BYRDI Shop online menu, towards the end of this year! (Also, ultimate bragging rights, duh).

Then here’s what you have to do next:
- Head to BYRDI at Home on The Blend website and watch the series of content hosted by Luke to learn all about the skills and information you will require to create an awesome cocktail!
- Create a spring/summer concoction that uses the learnings from at least 3 of Luke’s modules, including seasonality of course! Your masterpiece must be created using either Jim Beam Black Label or HAKU Vodka. Make sure to read the full T&C’s before submitting.
- Submit your cocktail NOW for our panel of judges to review, and to potentially receive feedback from Luke Whearty himself!
