Bar Awards: The Form Guide

It’s that time of year when hospitality’s best and brightest take the stage and get recognised for their efforts. The awards season is heating up and anyone looking to predict winners at this year’s Bartender Magazine Bar Awards might look at the early form some of our nominees are chalking up.

The Everleigh, Melbourne, which is up for New Bar of the Year, Bar Team of the Year, Best Drinks Selection and Bar Operator of the Year will be hard to be beat. They’ve just won the title of Bar of the Year at Gourmet Traveller’s 2013 Restaurant Awards, beating fellow Melbournians Bar Americano and Sydney’s The Baxter Inn.

Vernon Chalker, nominated for our Hotel Operator of the Year, Pub of the Year (Collins Quarter) and Best New Venue Design (Bar Ampere) has shown what he is made of, taking out the Donlevy Fitzpatrick award at The Age’s Good Food Guide Awards. Read more about Mr. Chalker in our Operator Profile here, and catch him at chat with other other bar gurus at the workshop on How to Open a Bar & Make Money at Bar Week Drinks Fest.
