Disaronno Mixing Star 2014
Entries for the Australian Competition close 7th May 2014
Suntory Australia is giving local bartenders the opportunity to win a trip to Sicily by entering the Disaronno Mixing Star competition.
This year marks a new chapter of Disaronno Mixing Star with the introduction of the Lab – a two-day mixology boot camp in Sicily, the land of perfect citruses. Here, Australia’s winning bartender will explore a number of topics:
- Alchemy of liqueurs and distillates: mixing Disaronno by knowing its organoleptic properties, chemical structure and production process
- Science of flavour: how do we use our senses to perceive tastes and flavours? How does chemistry help us understand how to extract and combine flavours in different ways?
- The perfect serve: the best cocktail pairings and matches. What is the perfect Disaronno serve? How to create the best serving ritual?

Online entries will be shortlisted to 25 finalists; made up of five bartenders who will compete in five States (NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA). The winner from each State will go on to compete in the National final in Sydney and vie for the grand prize of a trip to Sicily.
